losing control, feeling anxious about the unknown, or having unnecessary pain or intervention.
I'm sure that you probably already know that if you want to experience a safe, calm and gentle birth, you can't just cross your fingers and hope for the best, you need to be prepared.
And, because you are here, I'm willing to bet that you...
✔️ Are invested in providing the best for your baby now, and in their future.
✔️ Don't want to leave anything up to chance - you're dedicated to being as educated and empowered as you possibly can be.
✔️ Know that your mindset is key, so you want to make sure your head is in the right space, so you can have the best birth possible.
Being well prepared for birth can also benefit you and your baby in the following ways:
When you are in a state of relaxation, endorphins are released. These are up to 200 times more potent than morphine at blocking sensations of pain. When endorphins are flowing within your body, birth becomes more comfortable, often even pain-free, for both you and your baby.
Allowing your body to relax during birth, gives your uterine muscles more space to open as they are designed to do. This moves your birth along faster and with more ease.
Being tense and in fear causes your birthing muscles to pull against each other, making birth a lot more painful and slowing the process down. This often leads to medical intervention to help you relax and move things along.
While in utero, your baby is preparing for life in the outside world. In fact, some neuroscientists believe that 50% of your baby's personality is being developed before they are born. When you feel relaxed and positive about your upcoming birth, your baby will be too. You're teaching them that your home is a safe and happy place. This allows them to ease into life feeling more calm and settled, with nothing to fear.
When you experience the strength of your body opening and you allow yourself to go with it in trust, you will receive your baby into your arms with exhilaration, and you can say - "I did it!" There's no other feeling quite like it. It will be a moment you will cherish forever.
“Imagine what might happen if women emerged from their labor beds with a renewed sense of the strength and power of their bodies and of their capacity for ecstasy through giving birth”
DR CHRISTIANE NORTHRUP, MD.
Perhaps you've seen a beautiful, calm birth on YouTube, or have a friend who had a great experience.
You know that calm, natural birth is possible and you want to make sure you do everything you can to have an amazing birth.
You've gone out and found a great midwife or obstetrician. You've subscribed for emails to keep track of how your baby is growing week by week. You've begun reading various books and articles online about pregnancy and birth during your spare time. You feel like you are doing all of the right things.
But after doing this research for several months, all the information begins to feel like too much information, even though you still have more questions. Your head is spinning and your heart is racing. You are left with thoughts like ...
What set out as an endeavour to become informed, now has you feeling more anxious because you realise how many women begin their births with high hopes, but they end up experiencing extreme pain and trauma.
What's not talked about enough is the mind-body connection and how this plays such a powerful role in the experience of birth.
If you are holding onto subconscious fear during birth, your body will get the message "it's not safe to birth my baby". This will cause your body to constrict, holding your baby in, and your uterine muscles will work against each other.
Stress hormones will alert you to the pain, and prevent you from resting. Over time this is exhausting and it becomes harder to cope with the pain.
It's not really something to look forward to is it?
“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers — strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
Barbara Katz Rothman
Did you notice that when you began telling people you were pregnant, you started to hear lots of birth stories? Women love sharing their birth experiences, but sadly because women have become so disconnected from our innate birthing wisdom, so many stories are infused with trauma and pain.
These stories can lead you to believe that you will also experience a lot of pain.
If you go into your birth feeling scared, this sends the message to your body to tense and hold onto your baby, leading to a much more difficult birth.
As you likely know by now, your mindset plays such a powerful role in how you will experience birth.
Not preparing yourself mentally and physically for birth is like running a marathon without ever trying on your training shoes and going for a run.
It takes specific mental and physical practice to prepare for a calm, gentle birth experience.
Too often during birth, women will forget, or don't even know, that they have the right to make their own informed decisions at every step of the way.
If you hand your decision making power over to someone else, it opens you up to the risk of feeling unsafe and out of control. In turn, your uterus will tense and hold on to your baby causing pain and slowing your birth down or stopping it completely.
Even though women have been giving birth since the beginning of humanity's existence on earth, it isn't just something you can ask a few friends about, cross your fingers and hope for the best.
As you know, there isn't any shortage of information available 'out there' about birth. But trying to sift through all of that information is exhausting, overwhelming and confusing.
Creating a gentle, calm birth doesn't need to be complicated, but it does require practice and preparation.
When you take the steps to release fear and are well prepared with specific techniques to work with your body, your mind and body can birth in harmony.
Your birthing muscles get sent the message from your brain, "it's safe to birth my baby", so they rhythmically open without restriction, and your pain-blocking hormones, endorphins and oxytocin, help to move your birth along faster, and with greater ease.
This is how birth is naturally designed to be.
You don't need to know everything about birth, leave that to your medical team.
You absolutely can birth your baby with intimacy, respect and lots of yummy love hormones.
And with your permission, I'd love to show you how to create a beautiful birth.
I've taken everything I've learnt through teaching in-person hypnobirthing classes to over a thousand couples since 2010, and developed it into a practical step by step framework, that teaches you how to simply and effectively prepare for your birth.
Yes, you'll learn about how your body is perfectly designed to birth, but more importantly, you'll learn what to do, to effectively work with your birthing body, not against it, so that birth is safer and more gentle for you and your baby.
You will learn how your body works in birth and exactly what to do, to effectively work with it.
You will be able to filter out the noise of other people's birth experiences and focus on what you want to create, that is right for you and your baby.
You will discover how to be confident and in control through every stage of your birth, and keep the decision making process 'in your own hands'.
So if you’re ready to create a more calm, gentle birth and avoid unnecessary pain and intervention, here's how I can help you...
When you understand what your body actually does in birth to open and release your baby, the overwhelm will cease and you will feel more confident.
With this foundational piece you will learn a simple, effective way of releasing any debilitating fears of not being able to do it. Since fear in the mind leads to pain in the body during birth, this step is essential for birthing your baby comfortably and gently.
You'll learn how...
↠ To adopt the natural birthing mindset and set yourself up for success from the start.
↠ Your body is perfectly designed to birth your baby gently. When you know this, you won't be scared of it anymore and instead feel more confident about working with your body, instead. of just coping through birth.
↠ To move into your body's optimal, calm birth state to feel more comfortable and euphoric, through the whole process.
↠ To use a quick and effective technique to remove any fear or anxiety so that nothing will stand in the way of you creating your ideal birth. After birth, you can use this to remove stress from any area of your life. (It's a very handy technique for parenting!)
↠ BONUS: Download the Fear Release Guided Meditation for any time you need a little extra support and guidance to release nervous feelings about birth or parenting.
“When I began the course I was looking for tools and techniques for having a relaxed natural birth.
Since completing the course I feel well equipped to achieve that and have been given the motivation and tools to practice and prepare for the best possible birth.”
Zanna, first time Mum
Once you understand the perfect design of your body and have released any fears that may stand in your way, you'll be ready to build your confidence through learning exactly what to do on the day of your birth.
You'll learn how to...
↠ Easily get into (and stay in) the optimal birthing state of calm relaxation.
↠ Effectively breathe with your body during birth (not fight against it) to reduce the length of your labour.
↠ Use specific self relaxation techniques to achieve full body relaxation. You'll feel confident that, wherever you are, or whoever you're with when your birth begins, you'll know what to do. An added bonus is that you'll likely sleep more deeply during your pregnancy and your baby will benefit from your regular relaxation practice too.
↠ Birth your baby gently to reduce the risk of damage to your body and distress to your baby.
↠ Use the 'X' technique if you have a busy mind that prevents you from relaxing quickly and easily.
↠ BONUS: Meditation for Relaxation to practice being in the optimal state of calm for birth. You can listen to this on your birthing day to keep you focused and relaxed.
"I was internally freaking out about labour, the pain and the uncertainty of birth.
I now feel in total control of how the labour will go, and even if it doesn't go to plan, I know we will be relaxed and able to make a decision that isn't based on fear. I am relaxed and calm about birthing my baby.
I also feel more connected to my baby and changing body - I now know it's all natural and my body and baby will know what to do at the birth."
Lyvie King, first time Mum
Building on your framework, practicing exactly how to work with your birthing body, it is time to get your support people onboard.
When you feel totally supported during birth, you will be free to direct your focus inwards, and follow the lead of your body and your baby, rather than trying to do everything yourself.
↠ Your birth partner will learn out how to confidently support you in your pregnancy and on the day, so they feel helpful, not helpless in the integral role they play. There is a handy two page Partner Cheat Sheet to guide them.
↠ They will learn how to help you stay in the ultimate calm, relaxed and comfortable state using relaxation and massage techniques. You and your baby will love these!
↠ Use the Birth Plan Template to get clear on your personal birthing wishes. This creates a solid foundation for clearly expressing your preferences with your LMC.
↠ Using the list of Effective Questions to ask your medical team, you'll be be informed and empowered, every step of the way.
↠ Implement the practice to strengthen your intuition so that you can confidently decide on the right path for yourself and your baby.
↠ Learn how you can have a rewarding experience, even when your birth doesn't go to plan.
"Before the classes, I felt quite anxious, fearful and ill-informed.
Now I feel really excited about the experience and realise that I am capable of birthing my baby in a calm and comfortable environment. We feel much better prepared for our experience”
Danielle, first time Mum
Now that you're feeling educated, prepared and empowered, it is time to put your mind power to work to bring your best birthing experience to reality.
You will be using the same methods that top sports and business people use to achieve the outcomes they desire.
Some women are afraid to visualise what they want for birth incase they don't achieve it. In this layer I teach you how to avoid setting yourself up for disappointment, regardless of how your baby enters the world.
You'll learn how to...
↠ Get crystal clear on how you want your birthing day to unfold. This clarity will help you to confidently practice and prepare for a beautiful birth.
↠ Strengthen your mind - body connection by following the guide to learn how to choose positive birth affirmations that are perfect for you.
↠ Anchor your affirmations by choosing from the list of creative ideas to enhance your confidence. Download the Birthing Mandala Colouring Book to support your practice.
↠ Encourage your baby into the optimal position for easier descent and birth.
↠ Enhance your connection and bond with your baby during their formative time in utero. This will increase their levels of 'happy hormones' allowing them to be more calm, content and peaceful babies.
↠ Use the Scheduling Template to customise your plan for practice, with doable action steps. Following this plan will have you feeling empowered and prepared when the day comes for you to meet your precious baby.
↠ BONUS: Additional Birth & 4th Trimester Tips are included to help you deepen your knowledge and confidence.
“Experiences have clearly shown that an approach which ‘de-medicalizes’ birth, restores dignity and humanity to the process of childbirth, and returns control to the mother is also the safest approach.”
Michel Odent, MD

What parents have asked before joining The Calm Hypnobirthing Course.
If I had a dollar for every woman who told me they are feeling anxious at the beginning I'd have a massive pile.
The thing I love the most about teaching this method is seeing the fear melt away as they transform anxiety into excitement! Then to hear how overjoyed they are as they share their birth stories, and tell me things like "It was the most incredible experience" - nothing beats it.
So, hand on heart, I can confidently say, that this same transformation is available for you too. You are not alone in feeling nervous about what might happen on your birthing day.
I've designed this course specifically to support you through this exact transformation from anxiety to excitement, and I'm here to answer any questions you have along the way.
There is no one perfect way for all women to birth.
These techniques will benefit you and your baby, regardless of how your baby enters the world.
Women were able to remain calm and in control, even when things shift in a different direction from their original birth plan.
You can still bring your natural facilities of love, breath, connection and empowerment with your baby, and have a beautiful rewarding experience, regardless of how your birth unfolds.
Absolutely! The birthing techniques you will learn can be used no matter where you are when you birth your baby.
You will learn how to get your medical team onboard with your birthing wishes and how to collaborate with them, so that everyone is working from the same page for the most safe and rewarding outcome for you and your baby.
I always welcome you to ask your questions and I'm right here to support you.
Under each video lesson there is a space for you to ask any questions to get the clarification you need.
The techniques you will learn in The Calm Hypnobirthing Course give you a clear, easy way to understand how your body is naturally designed to work, and the practical things you can do to effectively work with it for the most positive birth possible.
The main difference is that this course helps you to align body and mind for birthing, but does not cover medical options.
So you may still like to find a local antenatal class in your area, and it's a great way of meeting other parents who are due around the same time to form a regular support group with.
That's totally fine - they are not the one who has to birth 😉
But seriously, as long as they are happy to support you, that is enough.
When there has been no pre-birth preparation, Dads will often say that they felt helpless and just didn't know what to do.
There is a whole module - three videos in particular, including a downloadable cheat sheet - that empowers your birth partner with lots of ways that they can be your number one during birth.
When you practice the recommended techniques together you will become a team with your partner feeling prepared and you feeling supported.
Your key support person need not be your partner or baby's daddy either. You might choose your best friend, your sister or mother. It is totally up to you. Just intuitively choose someone who you feel totally comfortable with that you know will be there to support you to have the most positive experience possible.
Yes, you will get immediate access to all of the core lessons in the course.
If you watched all of the video lessons back to back you would be through them in two hours.
In saying that, I do recommend that you spend a lot more time actually practicing and implementing the techniques into your life. If you are due soon I recommend you practice multiple times each day, if you have several months, you might just like to do something every other day and then ramp it up in the last part of your third trimester when you due date gets closer.
It's all good, you have 7 days to try it out and give the techniques in the first three modules a go. I will be here to answer fully support you and any of your questions.
If within that week you don't feel more calm, confident, empowered about your upcoming birth, you can email me for a full refund.
You have lifetime access to this course, so there is no time restriction (apart from watching and practicing before your birthing day)
This means that if you decide to add a little baby brother or sister to your family further down the track you can come back and refresh yourself with all of the content again at no extra cost.
Included in the course is a Refresher Guide that will help you review what worked last time and get you focused on what to practice for your next birth.
“Before I came along to your classes I felt anxious and scared of the pain and the unknown and I couldn’t wait for it to be over.
Now I feel so excited about our birthing day. I can’t wait for it and I feel very confident in my body’s ability to birth naturally."
Jane, first time Mum
